This customer trusted our company to take care of their booster rocket storage facility from start to finish. This project management job started with design services including engineered site plans, foundation plans, and structural engineering of the main shelter. Once the plans were approved, our surveyor started marking the site and our sitework subcontractor started with clearing and grade work. The electric subcontractor began installation of under ground utilities and installing a transformer. This project was a 120' x 312' x 12'' slab on grade. After soil treatment and final grading our concrete subcontractor was able to lay a 10 mil vapor barrier and begin concrete prep. This foundation included 5# rebar arranged in a mat formation with a spacing of 12'' on the center in each direction. The concrete was a 3,500 psi mix design that has control joints at 15' on center max with no control joint filler. Once the concrete was cured shelter installation took place. This is a 118' x 310' x 48' four chord high performance fabric shelter that has access end walls on each side. Doors include a 15' x 14' fabric door and a 20' x 18' fabric door that both include trolleys, cables, pulleys, and manual winches. There are 12 Telstar steel industrial doors throughout. Ventilation for this shelter includes 4 - 36'' exhaust fans, 8 - 36'' louvered vents, and 10 - 10-ton Carrier HVAC units. The 10 HVAC units were set and anchored, 5 on each side with 300 linear feet of 36''duct sock on each side of the shelter. 48 LED lights were installed throughout with a UL96A lighting protection system. The walls included R-19 batt insulation and liners. A wet pipe fire sprinkler system was installed throughout the whole building.
